As COVID-19 cases rise across New York City, the lines at testing facilities are becoming longer. If you’re trying to get a COVID-19 test without waiting for hours, check out out the options below.
CityMD is one of the most accessible places to get a COVID-19 test, but for that reason, it is also one of the most popular. CityMD offers free diagnostic testing, but expect a longer wait to get them done. There are two CityMD locations near Lincoln Square: 315 West 57th Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues) and 2025 Broadway (between West 69th and West 70th Streets).
NYC Health + Hospitals offer free tests as well, and wait times are typically not as long as other testing facilities. The closest locations from Lincoln Square are NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, Sydenham (264 West 118th Street between Frederick Douglass Boulevard and St. Nicholas Avenue), NYC Health + Hospitals/Old Broadway (21 Old Broadway between West 126th and 129th Streets), and NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan (1901 First Avenue between East 97th and East 99th Streets) and . There are a number of urgent care centers and smaller facilities offering COVID-19 tests, but they may not be free of charge depending on your insurance plan. These include GoHealth Urgent Care Center (199 Amsterdam Avenue between West 68th and West 69th Streets), Enzo Clinical Labs (115 Central Park West between West 71st and 72nd Streets), Rapid Test Center (252 Columbus Avenue between West 71st and 72nd Streets) and Speedy Sticks (100 West 88th Street between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues).
You can also order COVID-19 diagnostic collection kits online. After completing an online screening, if testing is necessary, you will be able to place an order for a home test kit. The kit enables you to collect a nasal swab at home and send it to a certified lab for processing. You will receive secure digital results within days. You can order a testing kit from Pixel by Labcorp or Vault Health.
