Lincoln Square is always abuzz with new restaurants and businesses. Within the past year, the district welcomed new businesses like Rampoldi (49 W 64th Street between Broadway and Central Park West), ZiZi Wine Bar (2012 Broadway between W 68th and W 69th), and LIK (The Shops at Columbus Circle). Here’s the scoop on what else is coming soon!
At The Shops at Columbus Circle, Alo (pronounced aloe) opened in October 2023, bringing one of the hottest names in athletic wear to the neighborhood. The brand started in Los Angeles in 2007 and has grown a cult following for its modern, “studio-to-street” pieces.
Café Aroma, which plans to open at 1873 Broadway between W 61st Street and W 62nd Street, will serve coffee, espresso, pastries, and bagels. The café also offers breakfast options ranging from egg platters to waffles. This will be the café’s second location, the first of which is at the corner of 9th Avenue and W 38th Street.
Another sweet addition to the neighborhood will be Amorino Gelato, located at the base of The Empire Hotel on W 63rd Street between Broadway and Columbus Avenue. Amorino Gelato has locations across the globe, but the brand was first started in 2002 by two childhood friends with a love of gelato. You can expect treats ranging from gelato and cappuccinos to waffles and macarons.
While the neighborhood saw Footlight Shoe Repair on W 67th Street (between Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway) close this year, its neighbor, Old John’s Luncheonette (148 W 67th Street), will take over the space. From meatloaf to ice cream floats, visit the diner to be transpored back in time. Stop by breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner.
Perhaps most anticipated of all, Morton Williams is still slated to open by the end of this year. The marketplace will offer residents another grocery option on Broadway between W 68th and W 69th Streets.
Despite all these openings, there are still available retail spaces. Property owners and entrepreneurs interested in opening a business in Lincoln Square can visit our Retail Opportunities page to see which spaces are currently available for lease. We can’t wait to see who joins our community next!
