With dozens of world-class shops and restaurants, there’s always something exciting happening at The Shops at Columbus Circle (10 Columbus Circle). This October, visitors to Lincoln Square’s premier shopping and dining complex, located at Deutsche Bank Center, are in for a special slate of activities, events, and discounts!
Free Music Concerts
On each Thursday throughout October, head to the second floor of the Shops for Sounds at the Circle, a free live music series featuring talented performers across jazz, contemporary, and Latin sounds. Each week showcases different performers, so there’s something for all ages and musical tastes.
Kicking off the series on Thursday, October 9 is a Family Jazz Party starring WeBop from Jazz at Lincoln Center. Designed for children ages 8 months to 8 years and their grown-ups, this interactive concert joyfully introduces young listeners to classic jazz music and stories. There are two 45-minute shows of this family-friendly event, at 11:30am and 1:30pm.
The following weeks’ performances offer something completely different. Come to the Shops on October 16 and October 23 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm to enjoy two duos from Concerts in Motion, a nonprofit that expands access to live music and builds community by performing in non-traditional venues. The concert on the 16th features a Latin Duo and the concert on the 23rd features a Contemporary Duo.
The final concert in the series, on October 30 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, features the Jazz at Lincoln Center High School Jazz Academy Big Band. The ensemble showcases talented high school students from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, who have received instruction from accomplished jazz musicians and members of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.
Shake Shack Discount
On each day of the Sounds at the Circle concerts, guests can also enjoy $5 off at Shake Shack! Restaurateur Danny Meyer’s world-famous burger joint, is on the third floor, just one flight up from where the music is taking place. On the menu, for a limited time, is the French Onion Soup Burger—available with meat patties or portobello mushrooms—made with cheese, caramelized onions, and roasted parmesan aioli. To take advantage of this deal, head to Guest Services, on the ground floor, to pick up a voucher on the day of the event.
Fragrance Frenzy
While visiting the Shops for these musical events, be sure to make time to visit Diptyque, the Paris-based fragrance shop, which recently reopened its boutique on the ground floor following a gut renovation. The completely remodeled shop has been beautifully designed with tile mosaics, floor-to-ceiling shelves, and more. Everything in the shop from the wood to the paint has been sourced from France—just like the shop’s iconic perfumes and candles. This season, check out Diptyque’s latest collections, including the return of the popular Citrouille candle, which smells like sweet and spicy pumpkin pie!
Steps away from Diptyque on the ground floor of the Shops is Jo Malone, the British boutique with bespoke fragrances for him, her, and home. These stylish perfumes, candles, and body care products make a great gift—the Ginger Biscuit Cologne in particular evokes the holidays!
There is another fragrance option on the way. D.S. & Durga, the fragrance brand known as a “cult favorite,” is coming soon to the ground floor of the Shops. The husband-and-wife team behind D.S. & Durga started making perfumes out of their Bushwick apartment in 2008. Today, D.S. & Durga has several locations in New York and Los Angeles. Their perfume, candles, and skincare products are not to be missed—especially the Well Dressed Werewolf perfume that’s just in time for Halloween.
Haunted Hollywood
Get in the Halloween spirit with Haunted Hollywood, an immersive dining experience taking place on the fourth floor in the Shops. Haunted Hollywood unfolds in three acts: The night begins with Halloween-inspired cocktails and live piano music; next is a vocalist performance and craft cocktails, appetizers and entrées prepared by Michelin-rated Chef Richard Farnabe; and finally a provocative variety show in which iconic horror tales are reimagined through a blend of aerial acts, burlesque, live vocals, contortion, and dance.
Perfect for Halloween enthusiasts and foodies, this R-rated, limited-time series is already beginning to sell out, so check tickets here!
Fall Photo Shoot
Celebrate the fall season by taking a photo at the Fall Harvest Photo Moment display. The display is on the second floor of the Shops and open through November 1 from 9:00am to 9:00pm daily. Show your love for all things autumn by snapping a pic of you, your friends, and family in front of a backdrop containing vibrant leaves, flowers, decorative pumpkins, twinkling fairy lights, festive fall décor, and more.
There’s always something to discover at The Shops at Columbus Circle, and these special events make this fall the perfect time to visit!
