With music, song, dance, and drama wrapped into one show, cabaret is the art form that has it all. This October 21 – 23, fall in love with cabaret for the first time—or all over again—when the New York Cabaret Convention returns to Lincoln Square.
Now in its 36th year, the Convention is the original and longest-running event of its kind. Not just a showcase, it is a glittering celebration of the Great American Songbook and the cabaret performers who carry its legacy forward, interpreting timeless music for a new generation. More than 70 headline performers bring each evening to life, offering a vibrant mix of seasoned artists and exciting newcomers.
Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater (Broadway at West 60th Street, fifth floor) plays host to three unforgettable nights of song, style, and storytelling honoring the cabaret tradition. Each night features a unique theme: Tuesday’s The Best Is Yet to Come: A Celebration of Cy Coleman offers a swinging tribute to the legendary composer; Wednesday’s I’ve Heard That Song Before: The Music of Jule Styne celebrates classic songs from Broadway and beyond; and Thursday’s finale, On the Sunny Side of the Street, delivers a lively, joyous mix of music and variety, concluding the three-night celebration with energy and charm.
This is the 20th year that the Convention has been at Rose Theater—a grand, acoustically stunning venue that’s conveniently located at the Deutsche Bank Center, which also houses The Shops at Columbus Circle (10 Columbus Circle). There are many options in the Shops to get dinner, including Asian restaurants Twin Tails and Momofuku Noodle Bar, as well as Italian restaurant Bad Roman, all located on the third floor. Looking for drinks? Head to the fourth floor to Ascent Lounge and Bar Masa. A full list of dining options and shops can be found in Lincoln Square BID’s Neighborhood Guide. Physical copies of our brochure, Where to Shop, Eat & More in Lincoln Square, are available to pick up at the Convention. You can also pick up our guide at our Information Carts (Dante Park at Broadway and West 63rd Street or Columbus Circle at Broadway and West 60th Street) or by contacting our office at (212) 581-3774 or info@lincolnsquarebid.org.
The Convention is presented by The Mabel Mercer Foundation—a nonprofit that honors the legacy of one of the supreme cabaret artists of the twentieth century and promotes public interest in classic popular song and the art of cabaret.
