As we continue to contend with the devastating economic fallout of the COVID-19 crisis, millions of New Yorkers are still struggling to put food on their tables. As we enter the holiday season of giving, why not give to the city’s largest food drive?
For 39 years, City Harvest and the Daily News have partnered to host New York City’s largest food drive, taking place this year from Tuesday, October 19 through Friday, January 14. The goal is to collect more than 700,000 pounds of nutritious food which will be delivered to hundreds of soup kitchens, food pantries and other community food programs across the city.
You can participate in this year’s food drive by dropping off non-perishable food donations at any FDNY station or NYPD station. The closest drop off locations to Lincoln Square are the FDNY Engine 40/Ladder 35 station at 131 Amsterdam Avenue at West 66th Street and the NYPD 20th Precinct at 120 West 82nd Street and Columbus Avenue.
Want to do more? You can also run your own food drive – both in-person and online! Learn more about running or donating to the City Harvest food drive here.
