Lincoln Square, the gateway to the Upper West Side, is a bustling, vibrant New York City neighborhood that combines a thriving commercial and retail presence, world-renowned cultural institutions and entertainment facilities, and a large residential community all in one neighborhood.

The greater Lincoln Square neighborhood extends from 58th – 72nd Street from Central Park to the Hudson River. The LSBID, founded in 1996 has distinct boundaries beginning at Columbus Circle and extending north to West 70th Street and bordered by Central Park on the east and by Amsterdam Avenue on the west. Anchored by Lincoln Center for the Performing Art – home to eleven constituent organizations including the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Ballet, New York Philharmonic, and Jazz at Lincoln Center – The Shops at Columbus Circle, and Fordham University, this fashionable, cosmopolitan Upper West Side neighborhood offers destination-worthy retailers, world-class restaurants, unique cultural organizations, prestigious educational institutions and much more!
The neighborhood is also home to inviting public spaces and luscious green places. The fountain at Columbus Circle serves as a scenic meeting spot for friends, while the David Rubenstein Atrium and David Geffen Hall offer free Wi-Fi and comfortable seating. Central Park borders the eastern boundary of Lincoln Square and both Dante Park (Broadway & 63rd Street) and Richard Tucker Park (Broadway between 65th and 66th) offer beautiful greenery, as well as tables, chairs, and umbrellas provided and upkept by the BID. Dante Park hosts the BID’s free summer concert series, and Richard Tucker Park is home to a bountiful Greenmarket each Thursday and Saturday.

Getting Here
Lincoln Square is easily accessible by both Bus and Subway. For those who prefer to visit using their own vehicles, our neighborhood is home to several convenient parking garages – most of which are above the city’s new “Congestion Zone.”
Subway
Our neighborhood has two subway stations and is a short walk from two others. Take the A, C, B, D, or 1 train to the 59th Street/Columbus Circle station, the 1 train to the 66th Street/Lincoln Center station or the 2 or 3 train to the 72nd Street station and walk south two blocks. You can also take the Q, N, R, or W train to 57th Street/7th Avenue and walk northwest into Columbus Circle.
Bus
The M5, M7, M10, M11, M20, M66, M72 and M104 bus lines all stop in Lincoln Square. The district can also be reached from the east side by taking the M31 or M57 cross-town bus on 57th Street.
