Jazz at Lincoln Center

Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) is where the energy, soul, and spirit of jazz come alive in Lincoln Square. Founded in 1987 and led by the legendary Wynton Marsalis, JALC is housed in the spectacular Frederick P. Rose Hall at Deutsche Bank Center, offering a front-row seat to the world’s best jazz performances.

This one-of-a-kind venue features three iconic spaces, each with its own unique feel.

  • The Rose Theater, JALC’s largest performance space, delivers powerhouse concerts with impeccable acoustics. It was designed with the audience in mind—with three tiers, the furthest seat is no more than 90 feet from the stage.
  • The Appel Room, based on the design of a Greek amphitheater, merges luxuriant splendor with functional accessibility. Its dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows offer a stunning backdrop of Central Park.
  • Dizzy’s Club – which presents the best in live jazz performances seven nights a week – offers a more intimate atmosphere where you can enjoy world-class live music alongside Southern-inspired cuisine without compromising the awe-inspiring view.

Each season, JALC ignites the stage with an electrifying mix of classic swing, bebop, and cutting-edge contemporary jazz. The world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, joined by top-tier guest artists, brings the house down with performances that celebrate the genre’s rich heritage while keeping its future fresh and vibrant.

The excitement doesn’t stop at the stage—JALC’s educational programs, like Swing University and the family-friendly WeBop classes, invite everyone to dive into the music. For tickets and more, visit www.jazz.org.
