Lincoln Square, the gateway to the Upper West Side, is a bustling, vibrant New York City neighborhood that combines a thriving commercial and retail presence, world-renowned cultural institutions and entertainment facilities, and a large residential community all in one neighborhood.

Lincoln Square is anchored by Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts – home to eleven constituent organizations including the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Ballet, New York Philharmonic, and Jazz at Lincoln Center – Deutsche Bank Center, and leading academic institutions, including The Juilliard School, Fordham University and New York Institute of Technology.
This fashionable, cosmopolitan Upper West Side neighborhood offers a dynamic mix of cultural enrichment, destination-worthy retailers, Michelin starred restaurants, luxury apartment houses, and much more—bringing together culture, convenience, and everyday livability in one of New York City’s most sought-after districts.
Lincoln Square is proudly maintained, beautified, and kept safe by the Lincoln Square Business Improvement District, which has distinct boundaries beginning at Columbus Circle and extending north to West 70th Street and bordered by Central Park on the east and by Amsterdam Avenue on the west. In addition to easy access to Central Park, Lincoln Square is home to many inviting green spaces. Dante Park (Broadway and West 63rd Street) and Richard Tucker Park (Broadway and West 66th Street) have become vibrant oases thanks to care and maintenance provided by the BID. Each park features moveable tables, chairs, and umbrellas, as well as seasonal plantings, colorful planters, and information carts with pamphlets and flyers about events happening around the neighborhood and the city.
Dante Park is where the BID hosts its free summer concert series, Summer Jazz Sensations, and the kickoff event for its holiday programming, Holidays in Lincoln Square; Richard Tucker Park is home to a bountiful Greenmarket each Thursday and Saturday; and both parks feature the BID’s Magical Lights with annual holiday light and sound shows.
The 10 Broadway Malls—forming the spine of the district from 60th to 70th Street—are lushly planted and seasonally refreshed with colorful plantings by the BID, and illuminated with festive lights during the winter months. The BID also cares for nearly 100 urns and planters dotted throughout the district. The Movado clock at Dante Park and the fountain at Columbus Circle serve as scenic meeting spots for friends, while Lincoln Center’s David Rubenstein Atrium and David Geffen Hall offer free Wi-Fi, comfortable seating, public restrooms, free events, and dining options.
